How to Send Money to an Inmate in Jackson County Adult Detention Center?

Jackson County Visitation Rules and Schedules

Friends, loved ones, and other interested parties may visit individuals held at Jackson County Adult Detention Center either on-site or remotely. All visits are strictly by video. Generally, inmates are allowed one 20-minute, on-site visit per week. On-site visits are by appointment only. Prospective visitors may schedule an on-site visit at the facility’s front lobby kiosk. Note that on-site visits are free, and only three (3) visitors are allowed at a time. Furthermore, on-site visits are unavailable on Sundays and before 12:30 pm on Mondays.

On the other hand, inmates are allowed unlimited 20-minute remote visit sessions. Remote visits are conducted through an approved third-party website or app and are subject to certain fees. Prospective visitors must register an account with the third-party website or app to schedule and conduct remote visits. Regardless of the method of visits (on-site or remote), visitors must adhere to the following visitation dress code:

  • Clothing that exposes private body areas is prohibited
  • No caps, hats, or visors
  • No bare midriffs, exposed cleavage, transparent clothing, sleeveless tops, strapless tops, or tank tops
  • Visitors must wear shirts and shoes
  • Dresses, shorts, and skirts must be knee-length

The following additional rules are also applicable:

  • Cell phones or any recording devices are not allowed
  • Contrabands are not allowed. These include the items, but are not limited to ammunition, currency, explosives, intoxicants, and weapons.
  • Food, drinks, purses, bags, and packs are not allowed
  • Visitors who show signs of being intoxicated or under the influence of drugs or any mind-altering chemical will not be allowed to visit and may be arrested.

Note: Remote visits are monitored and will be disconnected if a visitor violates any facility visitation rules or the dress code. Additionally, there is no secure storage for on-site visitors to store prohibited items, such as cell phones, bags, purses, etc.

Generally, mail sent to ADC inmates is subject to the following mail regulations:

  • Must not contain any coded messages or phrases
  • Must have proper postage
  • Must not contain more than three (3) 4"x6" photographs
  • Photo paper and computer-printed photographs are not allowed
  • Photography shows pornographic images, or a criminal act is not allowed
  • Handwritten letters must be written in black or blue ink
  • Typed letters must be printed with black ink or toner
  • Drawings, stickers, and coloring pages are not allowed
  • Letters containing a foreign substance, stain, cologne, perfume, lip gloss, or lipstick will be rejected and returned to the sender.
  • No form of greeting cards is allowed.
  • Only paperback books are allowed, and they must be sent directly from a publishing company.
  • Money and money orders are not accepted through the mail.
  • Colored paper is not allowed
  • Inmate-to-inmate correspondence is prohibited
  • Bubble wrap, blank papers, copied puzzles, envelopes, paper clips, pamphlets, sticky notes, stamps, and staples are not accepted.

Interested persons may deposit money into an inmate’s commissary account through the ADC lobby kiosk on Monday through Friday (from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm). They may also make deposits online through approved third-party websites.
